VanMoof S2 Not Charging? Here’s What Could Be Wrong
If your VanMoof S2 is no longer charging and the green LED on your charger doesn’t turn red during charging, there are a few common causes. Below, we’ll explain what might be happening and how we fix these issues.
Possible Causes:
1. Burnt Connector in the Cartridge
Over time, excessive resistance in the connector can cause it to burn out (see photo). Solution: We remove the burnt section, re-solder the cables, and finish with heat shrink tubing. This restores a safe and reliable connection.
2. Damaged Charging Port
Frequent plugging and unplugging of the charger can cause wear and tear, leading to a damaged charging port. Solution: We replace the charging port on the circuit board to ensure proper functionality.
3. Defective Battery (Error 29)
A defective battery can trigger error messages like Error 29 and prevent your bike from charging. Solution: Once the underlying issue is fixed, we install a new battery to get your bike running smoothly again.
